1. Wash and clean the hilsa fish pieces and marinate with half tablespoon of salt.

  2. Make a fine paste of mustard seed, poppy seed,two green chillies, with a pinch of salt and half cup of water.set aside.

  3. In a large mixing bowl add the mustard paste, black cumin, turmeric powder, sugar, salt as needed,curd, mustard oil,half cup of water and mix it well.

  4. Then add fish pieces, 3 slit green chillies and mix it again.

  5. Now transfer it to a flat kadai and cook for 10 minutes in medium flame with lid or microwave it for 5 minutes in a microwave safe dish.

  6. Delicious sorshe ilish is ready. Now sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves (optional).

  7. Serve hot with plain rice.
